Manohar convenes Grievances Redressal Camp of G&B communities

KATHUA, Dec 20: In order to address the grievances of the Gujjar and Bakerwal communities of kandi and hilly areas, Minister of State for Fisheries, Cooperatives, Finance and Planning Dr. Manohar Lal Sharma convened a Grievances Camp at Dinga Amb in Hiranagar today.
A large number of representatives of Gujjar and Bakerwal communities called on the Minister and apprised him about their problems. They demanded regular ration supply for the communities, issuance of ration cards, inclusion of names of their communities in the electorate rolls, solar lights, pension for handicapped persons, permanent revenue staff for Dinga Amb Niabat, upgradation of high school Dinga Amb, provision of drinking water for the scattered Gujjar habitation, boundary wall for Idgah at Dinga Amb and other basic facilities.
The Minister listened to the grievances/demands of the Gujjars and Bakerwals community patiently and assured to redress these on the priority.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said that Coalition Government is committed for improving the socio economic status of the Gujjar and Barkerwal communities. He said that due share of reservation has been devised out to give a fair representation to these communities safeguard their interests. He said that several schemes / programmes have been launched for the welfare of these communities.
He asked these communities to avail benefits of various welfare schemes. He also directed the officers to create awareness among the communities about the welfare schemes.
Minster directed CA&PD Department to ensure regular and timely supply of ration to the Gujjars and Barkerwal habitations. Regarding the demand of solar light, he assured that the solar lights will be provided shortly in the important habitations of the community. He also issued instructions to the PDD and PHE officers to upgrade the existing infrastructure to improve the essential services.
