Srinagar, Aug 5: After concerns were raised by aspiring doctors taking the NEET-SS exam about the lack of a designated examination centre in Kashmir, the authorities have taken action with the matter brought to the attention of the National Board of Examinations (NBE).
Secretary, Health & Medical Education (H&ME) Department, Bhupinder Kumar, told Excelsior that they have already communicated the issue to the relevant authorities, “but they are currently awaiting a response.”
In addition to this, earlier, the Resident Commission of J&K also wrote to the NBE, which is responsible for conducting the NEET-SS exam, regarding the matter.
The complaint from the doctors was initially forwarded to the Resident Commission of J&K by the J&K Grievance Cell.
It is to be noted here that the NEET-SS exam is scheduled to take place on September 9 and 10 of this year. Approximately 450 doctors from Kashmir are expected to participate in the exam, which serves as an entry point for admission into various programs such as DM/MCh degrees at prestigious medical colleges across India.
