Orthopedics Deptt spreads knowledge of Basic Life Support

Jammu, Aug 5: The Department of Orthopaedics, Government Medical College, Jammu organised an event at KC Public School, Jammu. The occasion aimed to raise awareness about Basic Life Support (BLS) and promote the theme “Each One, Train One, Save One.”
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation of about 300 attendees including students, teachers, and medical professionals alike, emphasizing the importance of BLS techniques in emergency situations. Participants engaged in interactive sessions, and live demonstrations, equipping them with vital life-saving skills.
Dr Sanjeev Gupta, Head of the Department of Orthopaedics, expressed his delight at the overwhelming response from the attendees. He emphasized the significance of community involvement in spreading knowledge about BLS, thereby empowering individuals to play a pivotal role in saving lives during critical incidents.
Principal of the School, Amarendra Kumar Mishra expressed his gratitude for the Organising team stating, “Promoting life-saving skills among our students aligns perfectly with our mission of fostering responsible citizens. This event with Government Medical College, Jammu, has been a remarkable experience, and we look forward to more such initiatives in the future.”
Indian Orthopedics Association in association with Jammu & Kashmir Orthopedic Association is celebrating Bone & Joint Week fromAugust 1-6.
As a part of the “Each One, Train One, Save One” initiative, students were encouraged to share their newfound knowledge with friends and family, expanding the reach of life-saving techniques throughout the community.
The participants vowed to contribute to society by imparting BLS skills and becoming responsible first responders in emergencies.
