3334 perform darshan

JAMMU, Aug 5: On the 36th day of yatra, over 3000 pilgrims drawn from different parts of the country paid obeisance to naturally formed Ice Shivlingam in 3888 metre high Himalayan cave in Lidder Valley today.
Officials said that 3,334 pilgrims performed darshan from twin tracks of Baltal and Nunwan-Pahalgam in South Kashmir’s holy cave by this evening.
They said with these 3,334 pilgrims, a total number of 4,16,696 yatris drawn from different parts of the country visited cave shrine since the 62 day long annual Amarnath Ji yatra started on July 1.
Officials said majority of pilgrims who performed darshan at cave shrine have returned to their home States while others are on way. They said the pilgrims who performed darshan today also returned towards the Baltal base camp in Central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district and transit camp of Panchtarni in South Kashmir’s Anantnag district.
Officials said that it rained during the day in yatra area but the pilgrimage proceeded normally while the chopper services also plied without any hindrance to ferry the pilgrims to and fro from both Baltal and Pahalgam areas.
However, yatra from Jammu to holy cave remained suspended during the day, officials said.
