Protest against wine shop turns into indefinite hunger strike

POONCH, Aug 6: Ongoing dharna protest in Draba area of Surankote tehsil for closure of the wine shop shifted from Potha Bypass, has turned into indefinite hunger strike.
The newly opened wine shop in the area has triggered high voltage protest in Surankote by the public, including elected representatives, political, social, religious leaders, women and children.
The shop was earlier opened at Potha Bypass and following protests by the locals, it was later shifted to Draba area which also comes in Surankote jurisdiction thus resulting into continuation of the protests for closure of the wine shop.
Advocate Aqib Shah and other representatives said that they are protesting day and night from last ten days, while hunger strike has been started now from yesterday, “Health of many protestors is getting worst and about five of them have been admitted in hospital but we will continue this protest till the shop is closed,” they announced.
