UDHAMPUR, Aug 7: Acting swiftly, Udhampur Police arrested a rape accused within 24 hours he committed the crime.
Udhampur Police Station had received a complaint from husband of the victim in this connection following which a case FIR 417/2023, under section 376/452/323/506 IPC was registered and investigation was set into motion.
During the course of investigation, SSP Udhampur Dr Vinod Kumar, constituted a special team led by Inspector Raghubir Singh, SHO PS Udhampur, under the supervision of Addl SP Udhampur Anwaar Ul Haq and S Gurmeet Singh, DySP Hqrs Udhampur.
The team swung into action and conducted raids in some suspected locations. Based on the gathered information and investigation, police team arrested the accused person namely Jagay Kumar, son of Ratan Chand, resident of Bakhetar Nallah Ghoriyan, Tehsil Ramnagar, Udhampur.
Meanwhile, Udhampur Police arrested two accused who were involved in an attempt to murder case.
The accused, namely Bishan Kumar and his brother Sunil Kumar, sons of Jagan Nath, resident of Talpad had allegedly assaulted one Babu Ram, son of Gorakh of Talpad with some edged weapon.
Based on the complaint, a case FIR No. 414/2023 U/S 307, 382, 34 IPC was registered in Police Station Udhampur.
The arrests were made by SHO Udhampur, Inspector Raghubir Singh, assisted by PSI Rahul Jamwal.
