Two drug peddlers held with 48 heroin

JAMMU, Aug 7: Police in Jammu District claimed that they have arrested two drug peddlers in two separate operations and recovered from their possession 48 grams of heroin.
A Police spokesperson said that a team of Police Station Bakshi Nagar led by SDPO Wes,t Vikram Singh, assisted by SHO Bakshi Nagar, Inspector Rakesh Sharma, rounded up a suspect near Pawan Ice Cream.
On search of the suspect identified as Anil Kumar of Amritsar, Punjab, at present Shiv Nagar, Jammu, 43 grams of heroin was recovered, he said.
The accused has been arrested and booked in case FIR number 114/2023 under sections 8/21/22 of the NDPS Act registered at Police Station Bakshi Nagar.
The overall arrest and recovery was made under the supervision of SP North Kulbir Handa.
In another operation, the police spokesperson said that a team of Police Station Kanachak led by SDPO Domana, Vishal Shoor, assisted by SHO Kahnachak, Inspector Sandeep Singh Chib, rounded up a suspect identified as Talib Hussain of Takku Chak, Purkhoo, Jammu.
On search of the belongings of the suspect, police recovered 5 grams of her heroin, he said.
The accused has been arrested and booked in case FIR number 101/2023 under sections 8/21/22 of the NDPS Act registered at Police Station Kahnachak.
“Further investigations are on in both the cases,” said the police spokesperson.
