JAMMU, Aug 8: In a Public Interest Litigation filed by Social Youth Club regarding timeline within which the Genetic Counseling Centres, Genetic Clinic, Genetic Laboratories etc need to be established, a Division Bench of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh High Court comprising Chief Justice N Kotiswar Singh and Justice Wasim Sadiq Nargal has issued directive to the Principal Government Medical College Jammu.
After hearing Advocate Navneet Dubey for the PIL whereas Senior AAG SS Nanda for the UT, DB observed, “in the light of the status report filed by the administration, let the Principal, Govt Medical College, Jammu informs this court about the existing Genetic Testing Lab as well as counseling centers stated to have been established at SMGS Hospital, Jammu jointly by the Department of Pediatrics and Gynecology by or before the next date of hearing”.
