Shameema lashes out at BJP Govt for atrocities on women

JAMMU, Aug 8: Newly appointed president of J&K Mahila Congress, Shameema Raina was accorded rousing reception on her maiden visit as head of the frontal wing, at PCC headquarters, Shaheedi Chowk Jammu on her arrival today.
She was accorded warm reception by number of Mahila Congress leaders and workers besides team of senior Congress leaders at the Jammu party office. The outgoing president Indu Pawar, Ex- MLA, presented bouquet to Shameema Raina in the meeting of Mahila Congress.
Addressing the meeting Shameema Raina said that Women have a great role in the society in every sphere, especially politics since the exploitation of women and atrocities upon them are increasing day by day. She referred to the shameful and painful incidents of Manipur which have brought great disrespect to our nation and women folk. She said such incidents and atrocities are intolerable.
Raina lambasted the Prime Minister and BJP for being insensitive towards the women atrocities across the country. She alleged that several such heinous crimes have taken place where the role of BJP government was indifferent.
She expressed gratitude to the party high command and Central & UT leadership of Congress and National president of Mahila Congress led by Neta D Souza for giving her opportunity to serve as Mahila Congress president in J&K.
Raina said that more and more women would get the party mandate in the ULB election due shortly and winning ability, Congress ideology and loyalty shall be sole criteria. She said that all deserving workers would get their due place in the organization depending upon their seniority and performance and asked the party workers to bring back Congress to power at the Centre and in J&K.
Senior Congress leaders Ravinder Sharma, Ex-MLC and chief spokesperson, senior leaders Ved Mahajan Ex- MLC, Vinod Sharma, Gurmeet Singh, Pawan Raina, Narinder Gupta, Narinder Sharma, Thomas khokhar, Sanjeev Panda, Neeraj Gupta, Suresh Dogra, Vijay Shastri, Nasir Masih, Vinay Sharma and others were also present to congratulate her besides senior Mahila leaders Lalita Sharma, Rajni Bala, Bhanu Mahajan Corporators, Vandana Sharma, Kamlesh Manhas, Suman Chaudhary, Sushma Chaudhary, Santosh Majotra, Santosh Manhas, Asha Chandan, Rita Devi, Anuradha and Chander Prabha.
