Two held with illicit timber

DODA, Aug 9: Police here today arrested two persons with illicit timber in large quantity.
Acting on specific information, cops from Police Station Gandoh led by Inspector Vikram Singh, SHO Gandoh seized the illicit timber in Bhowan Forest area of Gandoh.
The illicit timber was found to have extracted by Jamsheed Ahmed, son of Abdul Qayoom Khan and Shahbaz Ahmed Khan, son of Nazam Din Khan, both residents of village Sanwara, Tehsil Gandoh after they cut the green standing trees illegally in forest area of Gandoh.
The wooden logs were then stolen for selling illegally.
Both the accused were arrested and the logs were seized from the spot.
Upon this, a case in FIR number 72/2023 under relevant sections has been registered at Police Station Gandoh and investigation started.
