Sir,
This is with reference to the editorial ‘How about AAP in J&K’ by B L Saraf dated 16 Dec 2013 in which he has reiterated that Azadi, plebiscite or redrawing of borders would remain a bewildered dream in the valley as before. Politics in J&K has been revolving around false promises of Azadi and autonomy which has ruined our social fabric. Exploiters of emotional sentiments have to be shown the door to create space for genuine democracy. Above 80 percent polling in elections shows people have faith in democracy. But they should have a credible alternative like AAP in Delhi.
AAP effect has captured the imagination of entire country and something good is happening in Indian politics. Political class transformation is obvious. India is nearing to a utopian state; hopefully. Therefore J&K is going to have AAP effect in the coming days even if it does not sweep it the way it has swept Delhi. Politics of populism and identity is nearing extinction creating space for genuine democracy.
Yours etc…..
