JAMMU, Aug 10: A deputation of Roopnagar Welfare Association led by Uttamdeep Sharma met SDM and Tehsildar Janipur North Zone and submitted him a memorandum regarding JMC Voter List.
Deputation members stated that earlier all voters of Roopnagar JDA Housing Colony from sectors 1 to 9 were listed in JMC Voter List of Ward number 62.
“But in last JMC election of 2018, some voters of sector 2, 3 and 4 and all voters of sectors 6, 7 and 8 were included in Ward number 60. But these voters want to cast their votes in Ward number 62,” they said adding that it was the burning demand of voters of Roopnagar.
Deputation members also said that they have already made several efforts to shift the voters.
The concerned SDM and Tehsildar assured the Association members for solution regarding their issue and issued orders to the concerned supervisors for inclusion of voters (which were earlier shifted to Ward number 60) in Ward number 62.
The deputation comprised of Shanti Saroop Sharma, press secretary; N.L Bhat, Krishan Singh and others.
