JAMMU, Aug 11: The Director General of Police (DGP), Dilbag Singh, undertook a visit to Kupwara, a frontier district in North Kashmir.
The visit encompassed a series of crucial events aimed at bolstering security, commemorating the sacrifice of police personnel, and addressing the persistent threat posed by Pakistan and its agencies.
During his time in Kupwara, the DGP presided over a joint security review meeting, underscoring the paramount importance of coordination among various security agencies. He lauded the unwavering commitment of the Police, Army, and other forces in ensuring that Jammu and Kashmir remains free from the scourge of terrorism.
He also inaugurated new police establishments that were dedicated to the memory of brave police martyrs. This gesture of remembrance and honor not only pays homage to those who made the ultimate sacrifice but also serves as a poignant reminder of the dedication exhibited by the police force.
In a demonstration of his commitment to environmental sustainability and the “Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav” initiative, the DGP also participated in planting saplings. This symbolic act reflects the determination to nurture and protect not only the region’s security but also its natural resources.
The DGP’s interaction with officers and jawans during a Darbar provided a platform for conveying his vision. He stressed that the preservation of peace and order hinges on a delicate balance between security operations and civilian convenience. This sentiment underscored the humane approach advocated by the police force.
Additionally, the DGP acknowledged the words of praise from the Union Home Minister, Amit Shah, which he considered a source of pride for the entire force.
The visit concluded with the release of a book titled “Guardians of Honour, A Tribute to Kupwara Police Martyrs” and discussions about preparations for Independence Day celebrations.
