JAMMU, Aug 11: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) provincial youth secretary, Muktesh Yogi today demanded reimplementation of Self Help Group (SHG) Scheme for engineers in J&K UT.
In a statement issued here, Yogi said that abolition of the scheme has turned the future of thousands of engineers bleak and dashed their hopes to ground.
He said the scheme introduced in 2004 was aimed to make educated and well qualified youth of J&K self reliant, independent and job creators instead of job seekers. There were around 1000 SHGs registered in Jammu and 1400n SHGs in Kashmir which have approximately 14000 engineers working and taking advantage of the scheme.
He said with re-implementation of the scheme thousands of unemployed youth can earn their living and this way Government can to a great extent get rid of growing unemployment also.
