JAMMU, Aug 12: Jammu Blood Centre, was inaugurated here, today.
The first blood donation on the occasion was made and organised by Dr Navneet Kour, Founder Chairperson NGO Support, president Young Blood Association and secretary general of Indian Society for Blood Transfusion and Immunohemathology J&K Chapter with Volunteer team which aims at positive volunteerism in donating blood and saving precious lives in collaboration with the organising team of doctors of Jammu Blood Centre comprising of Dr. Paras Khanna, Dr. Samir Parate, Dr. Gurpreet, Dr. Atul.
The Jammu Blood Centre was inaugurated by Anil Padha founder of YBA established since 1981 and chief advisor, NGO Support, Dr. Navneet Kour, Founder Chairperson, NGO Support, president YBA who was the camp organiser, Ritu Singh Philanthropist and social leader from the Royal family founder Amanat Organisation, Dr. (Prof) Kasturi Lal, Dr. Chrungoo, Shalini Khanna (social activist), Adeep Singh Mehta, Dr Mustaq Special Secretary Information Department, Dr. Dushyant , Dr Sunil Kumar , Dr Sonia Nagyal and other senior practitioners.
It was a great initiative of the organising team which comprised of Dr. Paras Khanna, Dr. Samir Parate, Dr. Gurpreet, Dr. Atul. The blood bank technical team led by Dr. Monica successfully conducted donation camp where 30 volunteers from Support and YBA, NSS Volunteers from B Ed Degree College led by Dr Shubhra Jamwal NGO service to humanity donated blood.
“Our aim is to continue achieving the remarkable feat of 100% voluntary blood donations, which not only saves lives but also fosters a sense of community and empathy among the residents stated the team of Jammu Blood Center. The Centre is equipped with State-of-the-Art facilities for blood grouping, Rh Phenotyping, and antibodies screening, ensuring the highest standards of safety and compatibility for blood transfusions.
Additionally, the Centre is committed to 100% blood components therapy, providing personalized and effective treatment to patients by giving them the specific blood components they require.
Looking ahead, the Jammu Blood Centre aims to establish a full-fledged Institute of Transfusion Medicine. This institute will provide advanced facilities such as HLA typing, platelet serology, stem cells, and a day care center for blood transfusion. These endeavors will enhance the Centre’s ability to serve the poor, needy, Thalassaemic, and Haemophiliacs with greater efficiency and precision.
An appeal was made to Jammuites to contribute to this noble cause and actively participate in the Mahayagna of human services.
An on the spot painting competition was organised by Support and YBA in collaboration with Jammu Blood Center where the children from the Cooperative School Marble Market participated on the topic of Blood Donation and Saving Life.
The camp team was led by Sanjay, Chandel, Dr Shubhra, Ramneet Kour and Gurneet Singh.
