JAMMU, Aug 14: Two notorious criminals were arrested and booked under the stringent Public Safety Act (PSA) in RS Pura area here.
A police spokesperson said that Avneet Singh alias Nagi of Sunderpur, Musa Chak, and Davinder Kumar alias Rahul of Chak Mohammad Yaar, RS Pura, had been evading their arrest in connection with various cases, including charges related to narcotics and arms offences.
Acting on reliable information, a dedicated team of RS Pura Police led by SDPO RS Pura Nikhil Gogna, assisted by SHO RS Pura, Inspector Pawan Kumar, conducted a series of raids that resulted in the arrest of the accused, he said.
“Warrants of the arrest against the accused were issued by the competent authorities, highlighting the severity of their alleged criminal activities,” said the police spokesperson.
While Avneet Singh has been linked to 12 criminal cases Davinder Kumar has been linked to 11 criminal cases of heinous nature, he said.
The arrests were carried out under the overall supervision of SP Headquarters, Ramnish Gupta.
