3 arrested, tractors seized for illegal mining

Srinagar, Aug 16: Acting tough against the persons involved in the illegal extraction and transportation of minerals, police today arrested 3 persons and seized 3 tractors in north Kashmir’s Baramulla.
Police parties under the supervision of SDPO Kreeri Khalid Ashraf assisted by SHO PS Chandoosa and IC PP Wagoora, seized 3 tractors and arrested their drivers for their involvement in the illegal extraction and transportation of minerals at Bandipayeen Chandoosa and Vizer Wagoora, police said.
“They have been identified as Nasrullah Khanday son of Manzoor Ahmad resident of Dandmoh at Bandipayeen Chandoosa, Mohammad Umar son of Mohammad Sultan Chopan resident of Mirangund Nowpora & Javid Ahmad son of Ghulam Qadir Mir resident of Saloosa Kreeri,” police said.
Accordingly, as per police, cases under relevant sections of the law have been registered at respective police stations and investigation taken up.
