KARGIL, Aug 18: Three labourers including two hailing from Jammu were killed and nine others were injured in a blast at scrap dealer’s shop at Kabbadi Nallah in Drass area of this district today.
The blast was powerful and is reported to have been caused during fiddling with an unexploded device taken as scrap by the workers.

The dead have been identified as Shabir Ahmed son of Mohammad Ghulam of Khayadal Drass, Vinod Kumar son of Sadhu Ram and Sangeet Kumar son of Mohan Lal, both residents of Narwal, Jammu.
While two labourers died on spot, third succumbed to injuries in the hospital. Condition of one more injured is stated to be critical.
DC Kargil Shrikant Balasaheb Suse has directed for best possible treatment to the injured and handing over of bodies to their families.
