Sena flays BJP for smart prepaid meters, other issues

JAMMU, Aug 18: Shiv Sena (UBT) J&K president, Manish Sahni flayed BJP leadership for alleged betrayal with the people of Jammu region and maintaining silence on the burning issues.
Addressing a press conference here today Sahni said that attitude of the government towards installation of smart-prepaid meters was not proper and instead of supporting the people BJP is silent.
“BJP’s supporters are again supporting economic exploitation of the public by justifying prepaid meters,” he maintained adding: “The City of Temples, Jammu, has been converted into a liquor city as liquor shops have been opened in every street and locality.”
Sahni said: “We have witnessed the opening of three Toll Plazas on 148 km stretch between Lakhanpur and Katra but BJP leaders never raised any objection.”
He said that the public which was already struggling with economic hardships, unemployment and inflation went on protests against the Property Tax while BJP leaders remained in doors.
“People are eagerly awaiting Assembly elections to teach a lesson to those who have betrayed their trust,” the Shiv Sena leader continued.
Shiv Sena Women Wing president, Meenakshi Chibber; vice president, Sanjeev Kohli; Balwant Singh, president Kamghar Wing and Raj Singh were also present in the press conference.
