JAMMU, Aug 18: Senior BJP leader and former Deputy Chief Minister, Kavinder Gupta today lambasted PDP leader, Mehbooba Mufti over her statement on increase in stone pelting incidents across the country.
Addressing a gathering after inaugurating development work in village Langar, the BJP leader said that so called political leadership from Kashmir can stoop low to any extent to satiate their vested interests and the remark made by the former Chief Minister and PDP chief is the live example of the level to which the PDP leadership can descend for petty gains in their journey in politics. Kavinder said that the statement made by Mehbooba that although stone pelting has dropped in Kashmir but the same continues in other parts of the country unabated shows the malice and desperation of the chief of the PDP because she is totally unconcerned about what she is saying and what impact her remarks will have on the ground because she also holds some responsibility towards maintaining peace and tranquility in the country for being the leader of a political party.
“It is unfortunate that Mehbooba is acting as if she has nothing to do with the rest of the country and is concerned only about Valley, which is reprehensible and needs to be condemned at all levels”, he said adding that the way the PDP leader is behaving shows her desperation after losing relevance in political circles of J&K post abrogation of Article 370 by Government led by PM, Narendra Modi.
Others present include Rekha Mahajan, Vinay Gupta, Jamit Singh retired Captain, Nanak Chand, Vijay Kumar, Baldev Dutta and Narender Sikka. At a similar inaugural function held today at Greater Kailash, Gagandeep Pargal president Greater Kailash Residents Welfare Society, Surinder Kapahi, Rajinder Khajuria, Baldev Dutta (youth president) Darshan Grover social activist and Devdas were present.
