AJHLA holds meet, discusses issues

JAMMU, Aug 18: A meeting of office bearers of All Jammu Hotels and Lodges Association (AJHLA) was held here today in which Association chairman, Inderjeet Khajuria expressed serious concern over the plight of tourism stakeholders who are leading a miserable life because of poor business after the COVID pandemic.
Khajuria also said that ignoring of tourism sector by the J&K government was also responsible for this sorry state of affairs of tourism stakeholders.
“In Jammu, the tourism stakeholders are closing their units due to huge expenditure but low income,” said Pawan Gupta, Association president.
He also said that tourism stakeholders are completely disappointed due to lack of any business support from the government despite repeated appeals by the Association.
“Tourism industry is already on ventilators due to extension of train service from Jammu to Katra due to which no Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Ji pilgrim comes to Jammu,” Gupta said appealing to the government to come forward for hand holding of sinking Tourism Industry of Jammu.
M.L Sharma, Anil Khajuria, Pritam Sharma, H.S Manhas, Baldev Raj, Sunil Suri, Swarn Singh, Manpreet Singh and Varun Gupta were also present in the meeting.
