Culture identifies nation: Bhalla

SRINAGAR, Dec  24: Minister for Culture, Horticulture and Housing, Raman Bhalla reviewed ongoing work on Tehzeeb Mahal, Integrated Cultural complex coming up near Tourist Reception Centre Srinagar at a cost of Rs. 88 crore.
The Minister was told that the state of the art cultural complex is expected to be completed by April 2016.
Mr. Bhalla also inspected the renovation work on Tagore Hall Srinagar which is being carried out by JKPCC. He was informed that Rs. 12.46 crore is being expended on the project.
Later, the Minister took stock of ongoing construction work on SPS Museum building in Lal Mandi Srinagar. He was informed that the project is coming up at Rs. 66.64 crore, out of which Rs. 31.74 crore have been released so far.
Mr. Bhalla directed the executing agencies to speed up the work on the projects within the stipulated time and ensure use of quality material.
The Minister said that we should preserve and protect our culture and cultural heritage for the posterity as cultures identify nations.
The Minister was accompanied by the District Development Commissioner Srinagar, Deputy Secretary Cultural Academy, officers of JKPCC and other concerned officers.
