SC, depressed classes deprived under BJP’s proxy Govt in J&K: Rattan Lal

JAMMU, Aug 20: Rattan Lal Gupta, Provincial President Jammu, Jammu & Kashmir National Conference (JKNC) has pooh-poohed the NDA Govt at the Centre for depriving the members of the Scheduled Caste (SC) and other underprivileged classes of even their basic rights, not to talk of other rights.
The senior NC leader stated this while addressing a day-long convention of National Conference Scheduled Caste Cell, held under the chairmanship of Vijay Lochan, Chairman of the Cell, here at Sher-e-Kashmir Bhawan Jammu.
Rattan Lal Gupta, who was the chief guest on the occasion, asserted that the underprivileged communities are being totally ignored and deprived under the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) proxy Govt in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
The senior NC leader said that after being voted to power in J&K during the Assembly elections, NC Govt will do away with the discrimination met to the aforesaid people by the incumbent dispensation in terms of deprivation of their fundamental rights and social justice. He asserted that it was National Conference that brought and implemented the law providing for land to the tillers as a result of which 80 percent SCs and deprived classes people were the beneficiaries.
The Provincial President informed that the National Conference will launch Sher-e-Kashmir Awas Yojana for the welfare of poor people falling under BPL category of PRC in urban areas, if the Party is voted to power in the upcoming ULB elections. Besides this, he promised that the Party will provide 24×7 power and regular water supply in the urban areas and opening of health centres in all the wards of urban areas.
Vijay Lochan, in his address, said that NC has always been the messiah of the underprivileged especially the SC community people. He exuded confidence that all SC people will vote en mass for the NC candidates in the upcoming Panchayat and ULB polls and thereafter in the Assembly polls whenever these are held.
Sheikh Ahmed Bashir, Provincial Secretary, also spoke on the occasion. Prominent among those who were present during the convention, included Andul Gani Teli Chairman OBC Cell; Mohinder Singh, Senior Vice President Central Zone, Rakesh Singh Raka Central Zone Vice President, Vijay Lakhshmi Datta, Rita Gupta Vice President Central Zone, Naresh Bittu District President Jammu Rural B; Sudagar Gupta District President Samba and others.
