Sir,
This is with reference to news item, Govt to hold census of OBCs for Reservation, dated 23-11-2013.
This is a very healthy step taken by the Govt. This is for the first time in the history of Jammu and Kashmir that Govt is considering for the benefit of Reservation, as per Supreme Court Judgement to 27 percent after 22 years. Number of rallies, dharnas, processions have been organised in this connection. 27 percent reservation for OBC of the State is the long pending, genuine demand of the communities as per SRO 294 Annexure ‘D’ List of State OBC.
Govt is very keen to hold the census of OBCs in the State, welcome step.Ministry of Social Welfare J&K Govt has constituted a committee and Secretary Social Welfare is the Chairman. Please be sure that all the members should be from the OBCs Communities. No persons/person from non-OBC should be a member of the Committee, as they do not have the feeling of agony, humiliation, depression, to which these people have been subjected to in the historical past. More over non OBCs have no knowledge and back ground which is essential for solving the issues of OBC.
All OBCs of the State fully agree and support the president of AIBCU that Govt should immediately announce the interim relief for OBCs, specially for those persuing technical and higher education, unemployed youth, women of OBCs.
Yours etc….
Prof. B.L. Bhardwaj
