JAMMU, Aug 22: IGP Traffic J&K Bhim Sen Tuti accompanied by Shridhar Patil (DIG Traffic Range Jammu) visited districts Rajouri and Poonch in order to review the traffic arrangements and other traffic related issues of the twin districts in view of ongoing Budha Amarnath Yatra and forthcoming fruit season.
On way, the IGP Traffic also held a detailed meeting at Rajouri with Dr Mohd Haseeb Mughal (DIG Rajouri-Poonch Range) and Amritpal Singh (SSP Rajouri) and at Surankote with Vinay Kumar (SSP Poonch), Nawaz Ahmed (Deputy SP Traffic, Rajouri-Poonch) and DTI Poonch, and discussed various traffic related issues including condition of roads.
DIG Rajouri-Poonch Range and DIG Traffic Range Jammu also remained present in the meeting. Moreover, Deputy SP Traffic Rajouri-Poonch was asked to furnish the details of issues including damaged roads which need attention from traffic point of view.
The IGP Traffic also briefed the traffic officers/officials deployed in the districts for performing effective traffic duty. Special focus should be given to check the overloading in passenger vehicles in the hilly areas, he added.
Thereafter, the IGP Traffic left for Srinagar via Mughal Road to personally review traffic arrangements in view of the ongoing road widening and construction work on Mughal Road.
