JAMMU, Aug 24: Police in Kanachak area here claimed today that they have arrested a drug peddler and recovered 6.10 grams of heroin from his possession.
A police spokesperson said that a team of Police Station Kanachak led by SDPO Domana Vishal Shoor assisted by SHO Kanachak Inspector Sandeep Singh Chib while on patrolling duty at Gaitla area rounded up a suspect for questioning.
During search of the suspect identified as Shabir Ahmad alias Shoqat of Chanderkote Ramban at present Mandal, Jammu, he said, 6.10 grams of heroin was recovered and accordingly he was arrested.
Police have booked the accused in case FIR number 122/2023 under Sections 8/21/22 of the NDPS Act registered at Police Station Kanachak and taken up further investigation.
