Idols of Lord Ganesh, Nandi Dev installed in Vessu temple

JAMMU, Aug 26: Idols of Lord Ganesh Ji and Nandi Dev were installed in the newly constructed Shiv temple next to the Sharda temple at KP Colony Vessu on the occasion of Mata Shardha Varshik Hawan.
The Varshik Hawan was performed on Shrawan Shukla Paksha Ashtami, amidst chanting of Vedic hymns.
On this occasion, the whole surrounding of the temple was decorated with various types of glittering lights, flower garlands etc. A large number of devotees thronged the temple premises since morning and sought the blessings of Mata Shardha. The hawan was performed with full religious fervor and gaiety, where devotees from different parts of Kashmir paid obeisance to Shardha Mata.
It may be recalled that every year committee members performs the Varshik Hawan here at K.P Colony Vessu. A grand show of Bhajan Kirtan was also performed by different vocalists which added to the glamour of the event. Devotees enjoyed the moments and were thrilled by the golden voice of different local singers.
During the ceremony, Temple Committee members and other volunteers were present in unique attire to oversee the arrangements and serve the devotees. While offering oblations in the Yajna, everyone prayed for world peace and tranquillity in the Kashmir region.
At the end president of the temple Sanjay Ganjoo complimented all participants and the apex members of the temple.
The Hawan started yesterday evening and culminated with Puranahuti today afternoon which was followed by serving of Prasad to devotees.
