JU unveils various missions of Chandrayaan through photo gallery

JAMMU, Aug 28: The Office of Dean Research Studies, in association with Department of Physics, University of Jammu, today organized a Photo/Poster Gallery of all the three missions of Chandrayaan under the theme “Chandrayaan Yatra”.
This event was organized to celebrate the successful landing of the Chandrayaan-3 on the lunar surface.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof Umesh Rai said that steadfast leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi played a pivotal role in this milestone. While lauding the entire team behind this achievement, he emphasized the significance of this achievement in pushing the boundaries of exploration and knowledge, marking a new era for India’s space endeavours.
The VC urged students to pursue careers in science, technology, and space exploration, thereby contributing to India’s continued growth as a global leader in space exploration. He further said the University of Jammu is going to collaborate with ISRO in the area of extensive research and in this regard, ISRO has given its consent and allowed students to visit their work stations.
Prof Rajni Kant, Dean Research Studies, University of Jammu, highlighted the broader impact of the Chandrayaan-3 launch, as it paves the way for pioneering scientific discoveries and opens up new avenues for collaborative research on an international scale. He said that the purpose of this photo-gallery was to provide an opportunity to the students and the members of the civil society to understand through photos/posters about various aspects of various missions being organized by the ISRO. He further said that the photo/poster gallery shall remain open for two days.
Among others, Prof Anju Bhasin, Dean Academic Affairs; Prof Neelu Rohmetra, Director, DDOE; Prof Meena Sharma, Dean Planning; Deans of various faculties, Prof Naresh Padha, Heads of Departments, Staff of Physics Department, Officers, members of the civil society, scholars and students were also present on the occasion.
