JKMEF thanks Govt for resolving registration of left out Medical Assistants, Pharmacists

JAMMU, Aug 30:The Jammu Kashmir Medical Employees Federation (JKMEF) under the stewardship of Sushil Sudan, who also happens to be a member of the Pharmacy Council of India, has successfully resolved the matter of registration of 30,000 pending cases related to the registration of Medical Assistants/Pharmacists.
This accomplishment holds immense significance for these professionals who were grappling with the uncertainty of their registrations.
A pivotal development came in the form of an amendment to section 32C of the Pharmacy Act 2011, which was ratified on August 15th, 2023, by the Government of India.
Addressing media persons here, Sushil Sudan said that the Jammu and Kashmir Employees Federation played an instrumental role in advocating for this change, actively engaging with various Government departments and submitting timely representations.
“This legislative amendment was a critical step forward, prompted by the aftermath of the abrogation of Article 370,” he said.
A formal notification bearing reference number JKPC-284Estt-793-807, dated August 20th, 2023, has been released, signalling a transformation in the lives of pharmacists.
Effective from September 1st, 2023, all previously excluded pharmacists are now eligible for registration, effectively resolving their longstanding predicament.
The Federation expressed profound gratitude to several key figures who played pivotal roles in this accomplishment. Notable among them are Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare Dr Mansukh Mandaviya, Minister of State Health & Family Welfare, Dr Bharti Parveen Powar, Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha, Chief Secretary, Dr Arun Mehta, and Administrative Secretary Health & Medical Education, Bhupinder Kumar.
Those who attended the press conference included Bharat Bhushan Bhagat, Shafket Hussain, Bahadur Singh Dogra, Madan Lal Sharma, Dalip Choudhary, Javed Iqbal Bhat, Sandeep Pandita, Surjeet Kumar, Pawan Kumar, Sham Sunder, and Subash Choudhary.
