RAMBAN, Aug 30: Three persons including two children were charred to death while two others were critically injured when fire engulfed three temporary huts they were staying in at village Bingara in Hummer Dhok here today.
The injured were shifted to PHC Ukheral.
The deceased were identified as Najma Begum, 25, wife of Ibrahim; Iqra Banoo, 2, daughter of Ibrahim and Assma Banoo, 6, daughter of Ibrahim.
The injured were Ibrahim, 35, son of Bobiya and Mirja Begum, 55, wife of Noorani.
When contacted, SSP Ramban, Mohita Sharma said that police was investing the cause of fire.
She also informed that rescue teams and police have reached the spot to look into the matter.
Police has registered a case in this regard and started investigation.
Meanwhile, MoS PMO, Dr Jitendra Singh has expressed shock over the incident.
On social media platform X (earlier Twitter), he wrote: “Saddened to learn about accidental fire in three temporary huts in village Bingara, Hummer Dhok. Just now spoke to DC #Ramban, Mussarat Islam. My sincere condolences to the families of three persons who lost their lives.”
