Kite string slits police cop’s throat

JAMMU, Aug 31: A police cop suffered severe injuries after a kite string slashed his throat in Gandhi Nagar area here today.
Follower Bharat Chand (46) son of late Gopal Dass of Valmiki Colony, Jammu, was going to his home on his bike when a kite string slit his throat around 3 PM today, police said.
Following the incident, they said, the injured cop, who is posted at Gandhi Nagar Police Station, was taken to Government Medical College and Hospital Jammu by his brother Ravi Dass, where he received around 20 stitches on throat.
The injured cop was responding to the treatment when this report was filed.
Pertinently, Jammu and Kashmir Police have arrested and booked several individuals in the recent past who were engaged in the sale of the banned Chinese string rolls in compliance of a District Jammu Magistrate order putting complete ban on the sale of the Chinese string rolls.
