World Sanskrit Day

JAMMU, Aug 31: On the occasion of World Sanskrit Day today, the Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police, Shakti Pathak, was honoured for his exemplary contribution in the promotion of Sanskrit language and literature by Shri Kailakh Jyotish Avim Vedic Sansthan Trust, Ban Tallab Jammu.
Speaking on the occasion, Trustee Nigam Gupta said that besides being an efficient police officer of high calibre, Shakti Pathak is also the Chief Trustee of Chudamani Sanskrit Sansthan, Basohli-the institute providing free education in Devvani Sanskrit and other modern subjects to the students of the far-flung areas of Basohli.
As per a statement, Chudamani Sanskrit Sansthan was founded by Dr Uttam Chand Pathak, father of DIG Shakti Pathak. His selfless service in promoting Sanskrit language, cultural and heritage values through this school has been commendable.
Shakti Pathak and his family have made invaluable contribution in the promotion and development of Sanskrit language in India. Pathak has also been recently awarded with “Kailakh Sanskrit Ratna Award-2022” by LG Manoj Sinha for his contribution in the promotion of the language.
In his address, DIG Shakti Pathak said that Sanskrit is not just a language but a treasure trough of knowledge, culture and human values, which has inspire the intellectuals, saints, and masses alike for thousands of years.
He termed promotion of Sanskrit language and literature as a service to the humanity as a whole. He also appreciated the role of Shri Kailakh Jyotish Avim Vedic Sansthan Trust in propagating Devvani Sanskrit under the dynamic leadership of its President, the Yuva Sanskrit Sevi Mahant Rohit Shastri.
The felicitation function was attended by Trust’s General Secretary Prabodh Sharma, Dr Sanjay Sharma, Ajay Sharma, Uttam Chand Sharma, Jagdev Singh Chib, and other members of the trust.
