JAIPUR, Aug 31: It is a matter of pride for the entire country that Rajasthan Government’s Indira Gandhi Smartphone Scheme, Annapurna Food Packet and Social Security Act for gig workers have found a place in the latest issue of ‘Time Magazine’.
The title of the article published on the 18th page of the September issue is ‘Rajasthan a symbol of efficient economic management’. In this heading, Rajasthan has been described as the ‘catalyst’ of women empowerment.
‘Time’ magazine, the world’s best news magazine, whose influence continues even in the age of internet, social media and AI, in which every word written has value, big people yearn to get published in it. Whoever’s photo or name gets printed in it, his fame spreads throughout the world overnight.
If an article about Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot’s scheme along with his photo is published in such a news magazine, then it can be estimated to what extent he is working, his work is being recognized even at the international level.
Under the Gehlot Government’s smartphone scheme, 1 crore 40 lakh female heads of families are being given smartphones along with three years of internet connectivity free of cost. Under the scheme, the process of giving mobiles to 40 lakh women is going on in the first phase, rest of the women will also get mobiles soon.
Similarly, Rajasthan is the first state in the country to make a law for gig workers. It is proof of the sensitivity of Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot that for the workers in the unorganized sector, for whom there was no one to raise their voice, a welfare fund of Rs 200 crore was also made by enacting a law for them.
Over one crore needy families are being provided free ration under the Annapurna Food Packet Scheme and the Government is spending Rs 392 crore on this. In this era of inflation, these families have got great support from this scheme.
There is a mention of these three schemes in Time, about which tremendous discussion is going on from Jaipur to Delhi. Till date it has not happened that the Government of India or any State Government made any scheme or law and got a place in this magazine.
