Tribute paid to Martyr Pritam Singh at LoC Post

NOWSHERA, Aug 31: In the memory of martyr, Pritam Singh, his family members, villagers and Army soldiers paid tribute to martyr near LoC village and observed Raksha Bandan as women of the martyr’s family tied rakhi to the soldiers and officers of the local unit.
This program was organised by family members of martyr Pritam Singh at the place of his martyrdom, at Line of Control Lakhnow Post in tehsil Qila Dharal in Nowshera Sector of district Rajouri today. The locals say that martyr Pritam Singh is seen many times giving duty on along LoC and then turns invisible.
Army officers and family members paid tributes to the martyr Pritam Singh at the place of his martyrdom, Lakhnow Post near LoC along with locals of the area. Army soldiers said that the Pritam Singh is still seen giving duty on the border and cautions soldiers on duty as well.
Martyr Pritam Singh had played great role during 1965 war, his younger brother Ex- Sarpanch Isher Singh said.
Singh sacrificed his life for the motherland and saved many people in Nowshera sector. Isher Singh informed about the sacrifice of the martyr. He said his brother a hero of 1965, captured Peer Badesar top while fighting Pakistanis. Singh sacrificed his life for own motherland on October 6, 1965. He said every year on October 6, we celebrate Martyr Day at his memorial place near Shaheed Pritam Singh sports stadium Rajova and invite all Army, Police and Civil officers for visit on this day.
