JAMMU, Aug 31: A drug peddler was arrested with 17 grams of heroin from Akhnoor area here today.
A police spokesperson said that a team of Akhnoor Police Station led by SDPO Akhnoor Mohan Lal Sharma assisted by SHO Akhnoor, Inspector Zaheer Mushtaq, while on patrolling duty at Old Bridge, rounded up a suspect for checking.
On search of the suspect, he said, 17 grams of heroin was recovered. Accordingly the accused identified as Mohammad Manshu @Manshu of Gajansu, Marh, Jammu, was arrested and booked in case FIR number 247/2023 under sections 8/21/22 of the NDPS Act registered at Police Station Akhnoor, he said, adding that further investigation in the case is on.
