RAJOURI, Sept 2: The family members and relatives of deceased youth who died under mysterious circumstances at Kotranka last week held protest and blocked road for about an hour at Samote on Rajouri-Budhal road today demanding setting up of SIT to probe the ‘alleged murder’.
The relatives along with villagers led by PDP leader Farooq Inqlabi, BJP leader Manzoor Naik came to Samote and blocked road near Army Camp, disrupting movement of the vehicular traffic for about an hour. They said there were some signs of external injuries around the neck, legs, back of Shabir Ahmed, son of Shakil Ahmed. It appears to be a murder.
The relatives and people protesting demanded that Senior Superintendent of Police Rajouri Amritpal Singh should set up Special Investigation Team (SIT) to solve the mysterious murder. They also alleged that some youth were accompanying Shabir Ahmed when he was in Kotranka on the night of murder. They demanded that mystery be resolved after placing all the accused behind the bars.
Later, ADC Kotranka Surinder Singh reached the spot along with Sub Inspector Chanderkant and they pacified the agitating members of the family and people from the area to hold fair probe in the matter and also set up SIT if they will not be satisfied with the outcome. They said that postmortem report is yet awaited and the things will be clear after it is received. The police said that some youth have been detained in this connection. ADC while giving assurance to the protesting peoples said that SIT is being constituted. After assurance of ADC Kotranka protesting peoples open the road for vehicular movement.
