Two held in attempt to murder case

JAMMU, Sept 2: Police claimed here today that they have arrested two people for their alleged involvement in an attempt to murder case.
A police spokesperson said that a complaint was lodged at Police Post Residency by one Zakir Hussain son of Noor Ali of Sidhra, Raghura, Jammu, stating therein that he was attacked with sharp-edged weapons by some unknown persons while he was going back home after dropping his wife at Bus Stand Jammu.
Quoting the complaint, the police spokesperson said that four fingers of the complainant were mutilated in the attack by the unknown persons, who also snatched Rs 5000 from his possession.
Acting on the complaint, Police Station City registered a case FIR number 56/2023 under sections 307, 382, 341, 323, 34 IPC and 4/25 Arms Act and started further investigation, he said.
Followed by registration of FIR, the police spokesperson said that special police teams of Police Post Residency led by SDPO North Sunil Kesar, assisted by SHO Police Station City, SI Mohinder Singh and incharge Police Post Residency, PSI Darshan Singh, arrested two accused persons with the help of human and technical intelligence.
Police have identified the accused as Felix Matoo and Jatin Kandayara of Christian Colony, Jammu.
Further investigation in the case is going on, added the police spokesperson.
