JAMMU, Sept 3: Continuing the ‘Meri Mati, Mera Desh’ campaign, Jammu and Kashmir BJP president Ravinder Raina today visited the International Border (IB) in Jammu and collected sacred soil in a ‘Kalash’ from BSF personnel
Speaking on the occasion Ravinder Raina said, “Under the ‘Meri Mati, Mera Desh’ campaign which is running across the country, sacred soil is being collected from the houses and statues/memorials of the martyrs of Indian Army, BSF, other paramilitary forces and police and this sacred soil will be transported to New Delhi where it will be contributed in making of ‘Amrit Vatika’ in front of ‘Rashtra Pati Bhawan’ on ‘Kartavya Path’.
Raina said the ‘Amrit Vatika’ constructed with this sacred soil will have the essence of the ultimate sacrifices made by the Military, Para, Police and other forces in the service to the nation and its people. He said this ‘Amrit Vatika’ will essentially remind us of our uniqueness as ‘Bharatiya’ and our rich history of culture, valour and sacrifices. “In October end, the construction work of this Vatika will be initiated,” he added.
“I bow down before our brave soldiers who sacrifice their lives to protect borders of our country,” the BJP president said and expressed gratitude to all the BSF personnel to present him ‘sacred soil’ for ‘Amrit Vatika’. He said ‘Meri Mati, Mera Desh’ campaign runs with the slogan, “Mitti Ko Naman, Veeron Ka Vandan” to celebrate the 77 years of Indian Independence.
Raina said this campaign is being run by BJP all over the country with the ‘Jana Bhagidari’. He said our party leaders are visiting homes of the martyrs, in even far flung areas, to collect ‘sacred soil’. He said through this campaign, martyrs of the country will be given a befitting tribute.
