CHENNAI, Dec 28: The prices of moong dal, sugar, maida and sooji moved down while that of wheat moved up in the wholesale foodgrains market for the week under review.
However, the prices of thoor dal, urad dal and gram dal remained unchanged throughout the week.
Moong dal and sooji (90 kg) opened the week at its previous level of Rs 8,600 per quintal and Rs 2,600 decreased by Rs 100 to Rs 8,500 and Rs 2,500 and continued to remain at the same rate till yesterday.
Both sugar and maida (90 kg) moved down Rs 50 each to Rs 2,900 and Rs 2,400 from Rs 2,950 and Rs 2,450 and remained at the same level throughout the week.
In contrast, wheat traded at Rs 2,600, with a increase of Rs 200 per quintal from Rs 2,400. (AGENCIES)
