SOPORE, Sept 3: Peoples Conference senior Vice President and former Minister Abdul Gani Vakil today urged the youth to stay away from drugs, as this drug menace is destroying the current and future generations and will have a catastrophic impact on the future of J&K.
“Religious scholars and influencers need to step up and counsel the younger generation, and we as a society need to be at the forefront to fight this menace, or else the days are not far when J&K will become a drug haven,” he said.
Vakil demanded immediate action by the UT administration to address the growing drug abuse in society.
Abdul Gani Vakil today visited several areas of Sopore and Rafiabad including Dangerpora, Behrampora, Doabgah, Ladoora, Wanpora and Iqbal Nagar.
Addressing the public meeting, Vakil underscored that PC is committed to create space for youth to participate and be a part of the decision making for their future. Active and meaningful participation of the youth is imperative to address the challenges that have an impact on them and their future.
“We are committed to create space for the youth to take the mantle of responsibility to become partners in the decision-making process and shape a brighter future for the coming generations,” Vakil added.
Vakil said J&K politics needs new ideas and energy, and the need of the hour is for the youth of J&K to stand with the Peoples Conference and its President, Sajad Gani Lone.
Meeting was presided over by Youth Leader Mohsin Paray, YJKPC President Junaid Parvez Shah was also present in the meeting.
Among others who accompanied Vakil include Sarpanch Mohammad Amin War, Mohammad Shaban, Muzaffar Naikoo, Bashir Ahmad Dar, Youth Leaders Saleem, Mushtaq Beigh and Waseem Tariq Dand.
