JAMMU, Sept 4: J&K Dharmarth Trust, in collaboration with the Sanatan Dharm Sabha and Dharmik Youvak Mandal, is going to organize a grand Rath Yatra on September 6 to commemorate the auspicious occasion of Shri Krishna Janamashtami.

Addressing media persons at Trust’s Central Office in Jammu, Brig (Retired) RS Langeh (president of J&K Dharmarth Trust) informed that this much-awaited event will witness devotees and enthusiasts from all corners of Jammu region coming together to pay homage to Lord Krishna, the 18th incarnation of Lord Vishnu, on His birth anniversary.
He said that the Shri Krishna Janamashtami celebrations will commence with a captivating Rathyatra, a religious procession wherein the beautifully adorned chariot carrying the idols of Shri Krishna and Radha will be towed through the streets of Temple City. The procession will be accompanied by enthusiastic participants, both young and old, singing devotional songs and chants, spreading the message of love, compassion, and harmony.
Trust’s president informed that the Trustees will preside over the Shobha Murti Poojan ceremony, scheduled to take place at 3:30 PM on September 6 at the ancient Shri Raghunathji Temple, Jammu. Following this, at 4 PM, the Rath Poojan and Dhwajarohan ceremony will commence, with distinguished Trustees Ajatshatru Singh and Ranvijay Singh presiding. The Rath Yatra will be flagged off after these auspicious rituals.
Ashok Kumar Sharma, Secretary of the Trust, informed that the Shobha Yatra will follow the traditional route, starting from the historical Shri Raghunathji Temple. The procession will pass through various markets, including Residency Road, Rajinder Bazaar, Kanak Mandi, City Chowk, Purani Mandi, Link Road, Jain Bazaar, Panjtirthi, Moti Bazaar, Raj Tilak Road, and Raghunath Bazaar, before finally culminating at Shri Raghu Nath Ji Temple.
Varinder Jamwal (Additional Secretary of the Trust), Anil Sharma (president of Dharmik Yuvak Mandal) and Gopal Sharma (secretary of Dharmik Yuvak Mandal) were also present.
