JAMMU, Sept 4: A 2-day camp was organized by Virender Gupta, SDM Chowki Choura, along with his revenue team here at Chowki Choura on Monday.
A statement said that the main objective of this camp was to process and grant pending old age, widow, and disability pension cases all in one place.
Another goal of the camp was to reach out to people whose pension applications were delayed due to missing documents. They (administration) are doing this with the help of ASHA workers, Anganwadi workers, Panches, PRI Members, and Chowkidars from the Sub Division.
Before the camp started, a meeting was held where ASHA workers, Anganwadi workers, and PRIs were encouraged to help eligible candidates for these pensions and bring them to the camp.
On the first day of the camp, a medical team from the Block Medical Officer Chowki Choura issued 16 medical certificates, allowing people to apply online for their pensions.
Two disability pension cases were also sent to CMO Jammu for immediate review by the Medical Board, which is coincidentally meeting tomorrow at the BMO Office in Akhnoor. The Chief Medical Officer Jammu expressed support for this initiative.
The Tehsil Supply Officer in Chowki Choura issued 5 PHH Cards, which are required for processing long-pending old age and widow pension cases.
For the second day of the camp, all arrangements have been put in place to ensure that the eligible individuals can easily apply for and receive their pensions.
The Tehsildar is overseeing the camp, and a large number of people are expected to attend to clear and sanction their pension cases.
