One nabbed for ATM fraud

UDHAMPUR, Sept 4: The police claimed to have arrested a youth for conducting ATM fraud with the people in Ramnagar area.
Police sources said that a complaint regarding cheating was received at Police Station Ramnagar from one Babli Devi, wife of Joginder Kumar of Koghar Marh, Ramnagar stating that while she was trying to withdraw cash from an Automated Teller Machine (ATM), one unknown man offered help her in withdrawing money. Playing trick he handed over an identical fake debit card. He later withdrew Rs 20,000 from her bank account.
In this regard a case FIR No. 91/2023 U/S 420 IPC was registered at PS Ramnagar and investigation was taken up.
The police party headed by SHO Ramnagar Sohan Singh on the basis of human as well as technical intelligence, rounded up one person namely Imtiaz Ahmed, son of Mohd Hussain of Khabi Gandri, Ramban. He was put to sustain questioning during which he admitted his crime and on the basis of his disclosure, some recovery is likely to be affected.
