UDHAMPUR, Sept 5: Two books of poetry in English titled ‘The Beautiful World’ and ‘ Mystical Musings’ composed by eminent academician, writer, columnist, literary critic and interviewer Ashok Sharma were released in a function held here today.
The books were released on the eve of Teachers’ Day by eminent writer, historian and Padma Shri awardee Prof. Shiv Nirmohi.
In this regard a function was organised at Govt. Hr. Sec. School, Chak Rakwalan ( Udhampur) from where Ashok Sharma started his education way back in 1969 in the then Primary School and where he served as teacher from June,1993 to Sep,1997 when it was functioning as a High School.
Speaking on the occasion Prof Nirmohi termed the books ‘The Beautiful World’ & ‘ Mystical Musings’ as bouquets comprising poetic flowers of myriad sizes, shades and hues, which will serve as a treat to the eyes and soul of the readers of every age group.
The Principal of the school appreciated Ashok Sharma as a great teacher, culture warrior and writer and said that the school is proud of its distinguished alumnus.
Ashok Sharma thanked the school for love and affection and recalled his days as a student and then as a teacher in the school.
On this occasion, Social Worker Swatanter Dev Kotwal, Senior Officer (Retd.) from SBI Sindu Bhushan Sharma, JKAS qualifier Tarun Sudan, Principal of the school Sarita Rani, all the staff members and the students of the school were also present.
