Tribute paid to Martyr Ramesh Lal in Suchetgarh

RS PURA, Sept 5: Floral tribute were paid to martyr Sepoy Ramesh Lal by the family members, relatives, political and social activists at his native place in Suchetgarh today.
Sources said that 25th Balidan Divas of Sepoy Ramesh Lal was observed today at his native village Kalon, in which a large number of people participated to pay their tribute to the Martyr. Former minister and general secretary of Democratic Progressive Azad Party, R S Chib was the chief guest on this occasion.
The function started with the flag hoisting ceremony, by the jawans of 8th Dogra Regt, followed by the wreath laying ceremony by prominent persons. This started with R S Chib and followed by Brig Pawan Sontra, Col Randhawa of Rajya Sainik Board, Chaudhary Manmohan Singh, former Mayor of JMC and officers of 8th Dogra Battalion. Many Sarpanchs, Panchs and civil society members also paid their floral tributes to the martyr.
Chib, while speaking on this occasion said that Shaheed Ramesh Lal of 8th DOGRA Bn, laid down his life on Sept 5, 1998, in Poonch, during in an encounter with the militants. He exhibited an extra ordinary courage and boldness while fighting the militants.
DPAP leader said that the Nation is proud of our Defence forces, including Para Military and our Police. He made special reference of the excellent role of Rashtriya Rifles and J&K Police in crushing the militancy in J&K. He further added that our people residing on International Border (IB) have full confidence on our BSF and they are very helpful to them. He asked the youth to come forward and join the Defence Forces to serve the Nation. Chib said that sacrifice of Shaheed Ramesh Lal will always be remembered by one and all.
