Four held for dragging, thrashing woman in Billawar

KATHUA, Sept 5: Four people have been arrested for dragging and thrashing a woman in Dewal Village of Billawar Sub-Division in Kathua District.
The incident took place last week but a complaint in this regard was filed by Reva Devi wife of late Pawan Kumar of Dewal, Billawar only on Monday. A video of the incident, wherein the attackers could be seen dragging and kicking the woman, has also gone viral and has been shared and retweeted multiple times by the netizens, demanding arrest of the accused.
Acting on the written complaint of the woman, SHO Billawar Jatinder Singh under the guidance of SDPO Billawar, Surinder Khadyal, has arrested all the four accused identified as Kaku Ram, Ballu Ram, Happy, and Bunty, all residents of Dewal Village.
The accused have also been booked in case FIR number 126/2023 under Sections 452, 323, 427, 504, and 506 of the IPC registered at Police Station Billawar and further investigation taken up.06
