JAMMU, Sept 5: Jammu’s writer-playwright Rajneesh Gupta has been selected under the fifth edition of the annual `Hindi Sahitya Mandal Navlekhan Tej Puraskar’ conducted by Hindi Sahitya Mandal for the year 2022.
This award will be given to him for his drama-one-act collection – `Tandav’.
This award is given by the board in the memory of late Tej Bhan Gulati with the help of his family and it comprises a cash amount of Rs 11,000 and a citation.
It is noteworthy that earlier this award has been given to Kunwar Shakti Singh, Sumit Sudan, Kajal Suri and Naresh Khajuria for their poetry collections. This is the first time that this award has been decided for a genre other than poetry. .
This year, the jury for this award included poet-storyteller Maharaj Krishna Santoshi, writer-culture worker-former Additional Secretary, Culture Academy Arvinder Aman and Prof Rajni Bala, Head of Hindi Department, Post Graduate Hindi Department of Jammu University.
In a press statement, President of Hindi Sahitya Mandal, Dr Chanchal Dogra said that the award ceremony will be organized on the occasion of upcoming Hindi Diwas.
