Various educational, other organisations celebrate Teachers Day

JAMMU, Sept 5: Various educational and other organisations here today celebrated Teachers Day and paid rich tribute to Dr. S. Radhakrishnan, second President of India.
Centre for Organic and Natural Farming (CONF), SKUAST-Jammu celebrated Teachers Day. Prof. Parshant Bakshi, Head CONF and Fruit Science, SKUAST-J involved all the PG and Ph.D students, faculty members of Division of Fruit Science and Organic Farming in an innovative way to celebrate Teachers Day by planting fruit plant at Centre for Organic and Natural Farming, Chatha SKUAST-Jammu and motivated them to take care of these Dragon plants. The event was graced by Dr. R.K Samnotra, Director Research of the University.
To celebrate Teachers Day, University of Kashmir inaugurated a two-day national seminar on ‘Role of Universities in Transforming Society’. Vice Chancellor, University of Kashmir, Prof. Nilofar Khan said the trust the society has on the universities makes them highly responsible towards their goals. VC Central University of Kashmir, Prof. A. Ravinder Nath said universities have a pivotal and functional role in social transformation. Director, School of Education, IGNOU New Delhi, Prof. Chandra Bushan Sharma said questioning is the backbone of the universities and academia and through critique and questioning they need to prepare the young generation for leadership.
Mahant Bachittar Singh College of Engineering & Technology celebrated Teachers Day with great enthusiasm and fervour. On this occasion Principal of the College Prof. (Dr.) Dinesh Kumar Gupta emphasised on the importance of having good teachers to hone the overall personality of students. Prof. Parveen Singh, Dean Academics & Prof. (Dr.) Amrik Singh, Vice Principal also spoke on the occasion.
Government Polytechnic Jammu celebrated Teacher Day with great zeal by organising a function presided over by Arun Bangotra, Principal of the College. Tributes were paid to Dr. S. Radhakrishnan. Arun Bangotra highlighted the role of teachers in nation building.
To honour and glorify the contributions of teachers, Rajiv Gandhi College of Nursing (RGCN), Jammu celebrated Teachers Day. Abhimanyu Katoch (MD RGCN) highlighted the importance of teachers as guiding lights and role models in the lives of students.

Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of Government SPMR College of Commerce, Jammu celebrated Teachers Day to commemorate the birth anniversary of Dr. Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan. Principal of the College, Dr. Surinder Kumar Sharma highlighted the role and importance of teachers in shaping the lives and channelizing the energy of students.

The students of GDC Marheen celebrated Teachers Day to commemorate the birth anniversary of Dr. Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan, an academician and philosopher who served as the second President of India. Government Degree College (GDC) Sidhra under the aegis of IQAC organized a felicitation programme to celebrate Teachers Day. To commemorate the birth anniversary of second President of India, Dr. Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan, who was a philosopher and a great teacher, Army Public School Damana celebrated Teachers Day. A district level Teachers Day celebration function was held at Pt. Rashtriya Rifles celebrated Teachers Day in Lam area of Rajouri by organising a programme in which students from different schools participated. Teachers and staff of the Schools expressed satisfaction over the hard work of the students.
