Altaf releases “Salsaal”

JAMMU Dec 28: Minister for Forest, Ecology and Environment, Mian Altaf Ahmad has called upon youth to play a proactive role in promotion of Gojri language in the State, adding that language is the identity of a race and community.
The Minister said this after releasing a book “Salsaal”, written by a renowned writer Ahmad Shanas, here in K. L. Sehgal Hall today.
The function was organized by Society for Peace and Environment Jammu.
Besides former Deputy Chairman, Legislative Council and famous Writer, M. Y. Teing, prominent citizens and a galaxy of writers and poets were present on the occasion.
The Minister said that writers jot down their experiences and knowledge to prepare a document which becomes the treasure and guiding principle for the society and generations to come.
He said the tendency of youth towards writing is diminishing in the present era of technology but urged upon the participants to encourage young writers to foster their literary talent and enrich the field of literature
Mian Altaf lauded the efforts of Cultural Academy for promoting Gojri language and asked writers to play their role in this cause. He said language is identity of a particular community and concerted efforts are needed to acquaint the younger generation with their language and culture.
