JAMMU, Sept 7: During study visit of the Standing Committee on Railways in Jammu under the chairmanship of Radhe Mohan Singh, MP Lok Sabha & Chairman, a meeting was held here today in which many developments projects of Jammu and Kashmir & Ferozpur Division of Northern Railways were discussed.
During the meeting, Jugal Kishore Sharma, Member of Parliament Lok Sabha Jammu, discussed many development project related to Railways in Jammu province. He laid stress on the construction of Rail over-bridge at Gurha Slathian which is the burning demand of the people. He informed the committee that it is very important as the area is very thickly populated and people have to wait in long queues to cross the rail line passing through village Gurha Slathian Morh.
He also urged the committee to repair the approach road from Dhar Road to Manwal Railway Station as this road is in very worse condition and needs repair soon. He also discussed the high raising plateform of Manwal Railway Station which was already discussed with officials of concerned division.
The MP said that there is also dire need to construct Rail Over Bridge at Kalibari in Samba District and Bajalta Nagrota constituency. He informed the committee that many trains before Covid period observe a short halt at Samba Railway station but now they are not used to stop there, which needs to be restored. He also requested that on the pattern of Vande Bharat, a new train should be started between Jammu to Haridwar & return to Jammu. He also demanded the stoppage/short halt of Uttar Sampark Kranti & Hemkunt Express at Manwal Railway Station.
Radha Mohan Singh, Member of Parliament & Chairman Standing Committee listened to the demands of Jugal Kishore and assured him that the same would be addressed soon.
Member of Parliaments (Rajya Sabha & Lok Sabha) Members Committee, General Managers Railways with officials, PCME Railways, DRM Ferozpur, ADRM Jammu, ADRM Ferozpur and others were also present in the meeting.
